Hello, I’m Michael Sliwinski, founder of Nozbe - to-do app for business owners and their teams. I write essays, books, work on projects and I podcast for you using #iPadOnly in #NoOffice as I believe that work is not a place you go to, it’s a thing you do.
Why as an adult, LEGO blocks are impotrant to me and keep helping me unleash my creativity. Also which LEGO sets I’m getting myself for Christmas every year.
This past Christmas I got a very special Lego set which I won’t reveal just yet, but last Christmas (in 2022) the Star Wars geek in me got a companion for my baby Yoda - the R2D2 droid. Here’s the build process:
Today is the first day of December 2023 and the Christmas time is upon us. Over the last few years in my family we started a new tradition, that every year as a Christmas present I get a Lego set - usually a car or something from Star Wars. I’ve already posted how I built several cars: an orange Porsche 911 GT3RS - which started the whole tradition and then a white Porsche 911RS, an orange McLaren F1 Car or a grey Aston Martin DB5. I also built a baby Yoda. Well, I never posted how I built my second-biggest set - Bugatti Chiron which I got back in 2018. Here goes:
I’ve always liked ergonomic keyboards. I’ve been an early user of the first model of Microsoft’s “Natural Keyboard” in my Windows years and later also had the Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard but it stopped working after only 2 years and wasn’t well suited for the Mac. So I just kept using my solar-powered K760 Logitech keyboard which I bought in… December of 2012 - over 10 years ago! However, I missed the “natural/ergonomic” keyboard layout and decided to try the Logitech ERGO K860 and as I kept using it I also decided to “integrate it” with the Apple Trackpad in my home office. Here’s my review:
As I mentioned last month I finally met my friend Augusto Pinaud in person. What I didn’t say is that he gave me a special gift - knowing that I love ❤️ these two things: LEGO + Nozbe he gifted me with this beautiful mosaic, which he designed especially for me using Brick.me service:
After my success with Porsche GT3 RS I decided to add another, a little smaller and less complicated, yet still cool Porsche lego set - the Porsche 911 RSR made of 1580 pieces based on the real race car (991 version) which I got myself for Christmas 2020 - to basically cheer myself up in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Here’s how the build process went down:
A few years ago I got myself a glorious Porsche 911 GT3 RS Lego set for Christmas and I posted about it on my Instagram but never here on my blog. I’m a huge Lego fan and building physical objects out of these bricks is my way of doing something creative without looking at an iPad screen and relaxes me after a whole day of working on Nozbe. And gives me a chance to reconnect with friends. Here’s how I built my dream Porsche 911 GT3 RS out of Lego bricks (all 2704 of them!) back during the 2016 Christmas season:
I’m a big fan of LEGO bricks and on this blog I’ve already shared how I built a Lego Baby Yoda and other Lego sets. Building Lego bricks brings me joy. That’s why I decided today and in the future to share with you the process of building Lego and hopefully spread the joy to you even more. Recently I built the McLaren Formula 1™ Race Car car made out of 1434 pieces and it’s stunning:
I grew up as a Star Wars fan. I always admired Jedi knights and especially their Jedi Master Yoda. So when I got Disney+ for my kids and realized there was a new series from the Star Wars universe called The Mandalorian featuring a “Baby Yoda” character I had to watch it. I loved it. So this past Christmas I doubled-down on my childhood memories and got a LEGO set “The Child” featuring this cute character made out of 1075 pieces.
I’m a big fan of LEGO bricks. I’ve had them when I was a child (my favorite were the “Pirate” pieces) and now that I’m a grown man… I still love building Legos. And even though I have 3 baby girls and my eldest loves LEGO, too - I’m not only building LEGO with them, I’ve recently started getting LEGO sets just for me. And this year is no different - here’s my latest LEGO set that I’m about to assemble just now - James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 made out of 1295 pieces:
