📱 Second impressions of the all-new M4 13” iPad Pro - it’s thin and light!

Friday, May 17, 2024 /ipad24pro/

Last week I posted my first impressions on the new 13” iPad Pro and since I’m still happy with my current, almost-three-year-old M1 iPad Pro, I’ve decided to wait up until the first reviews show up and the iPad is on sale so I can touch it and feel the difference. I’m impressed:

💌 💼 ✅ Free trials are a waste of everyone’s time

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 /trial/

Today I’m offering a very controversial take on trials. Industry standard is to offer them… but at Nozbe we just stopped doing that 🛑. We’ve found out that trials are ineffective so so let’s do something different:

📱 🍎 New iPad Pros announced - first impressions!

Wednesday, May 8, 2024 /ipad24/

Yesterday Apple unveiled the new iPad Airs and iPad Pros and since my current (awesome) iPad Pro 13” is going to turn 3 years old in 2 months, I’m searching for a reason to replace it with a new one. That being said, my 3 year-old iPad Pro is awesome. I completely don’t need to replace it. But maybe I want to? Let’s see:

📲 🕹️ ⭐️ Perfect iPhone 15 Pro case is… Peak Design? Spigen? Mous? Pitaka?…

Monday, May 6, 2024 /case/

The trouble with iPhone 15 Pro or my previous 15 Mini any other iPhones for that matter is that I can’t use them case-less. I’ve tried and I’m just too stressed about the iPhone when it’s outside of the case. But… the cases add bulk and weight to the otherwise lighter and smaller titanium iPhone. So I started searching for a perfect case which would offer a basic protection and would be as slim and light as can be. Here’s what I’ve got:

🔗 📲 ⭐️ Clipboard Manager using Shortcuts for iOS - perfect for iPhone 15 Pro Action Button

Thursday, May 2, 2024 /clipboard/

Ever since I got the iPhone 15 Pro I’ve been loving the new Action button and I keep inventing ideas how to use it even more. I’ve added many Shortcuts to it, like Journaling, Watch Notes, Dice and others… and recently I came up with a very cool idea - how to finally build my very own Clipboard manager using Shortcuts that takes advantage of the Action button, adds very useful features and the result is… glorious - and you can get it for free below:

🏝 Visiting a city is an opportunity to reconnect with people, especially if you’re working remotely

Tuesday, April 30, 2024 /visiting/

I run my company completely remotely. We have no office. That’s why whenever I visit a city I try to maximize my stay by checking in with people I know are from there. Is anyone from my Nozbe team there? Any of our partners? Customers?… and I try to schedule in-person meetings so we can hang out and enjoy each other’s company for a while and strengthen our personal bonds. Here’s a recap of my recent day in Wrocław:

🎥 🎬 💌 ⭐️ 3 meetings per week or less?… - how two Michaels argue about managing people

Thursday, April 18, 2024 /meetings/

Finally decided to record a long-form video on my new YouTube channel featuring two Michaels arguing about meetings. Here’s the video and full script below. Do you also agree that meetings should be regular, optional and well prepared? just like we do at Nozbe?

🎥 ✈️ 🎬 ⭐️ Productivity videos from Taiwan

Monday, April 15, 2024 /taiwan/

I’ve just come back home from a trip to Taiwan 🇹🇼 where I’ve had lots of great experiences, met my co-worker Emilia and experienced a major earthquake. What’s really important is that I’ve learned a lot during this trip, especially that it was to such an efficient-running and well-organized place like Taiwan. Here are a few shorts I recorded and published my new @MichaelTeam YouTube Channel during this trip:

🕹️ ⭐️ Drone is a way to get super footage - DJI Mini 3 Pro review

Friday, April 12, 2024 /drone/

A few years back I got my first drone from DJI Mavic series - Mavic Air - and while it was a fun novelty, it didn’t get me to fly a drone much. However last year I upgraded to Mini 3 Pro drone and this one got me hooked. Here’s my short review of this drone: why I love it so much, why even my family likes it when I fly it and how I use it.

🍎 💼 For Developers to win Apple doesn’t have to lose - why Tim Cook should listen to Steve Jobs

Wednesday, March 13, 2024 /good-job/

I am an Apple fanboy and happy user of their products: iPad, iPhone, Watch and iCloud and everything in between. However, as a developer of Nozbe which is available on both of Apple’s platforms: iOS and macOS I have very mixed feelings about the company. Actually, I’m disappointed in them and the way they guard the App Store “Services” revenue and exercise their position, making fun of anti-steering provisions or EU’s DMA laws. Instead of making their platforms better, they are doing everything in their power to keep the status quo. That’s why I think it’s time for Tim Cook and all Apple executives to listen to the late Steve Jobs from his keynote at MacWorld Boston in 1997:

I’ve been on and off YouTube for a long time. I’ve had my Productive! Show back in the day when I was running Productive! Magazine, but I never stuck to it. Our official Nozbe YouTube Channel is OK, but my team finally convinced me to try posting “Shorts/Reels” on both my Instagram and my new @MichaelTeam YouTube Channel and after more than a week here are the 10 videos I posted (and first comes the channel trailer):

💼 ✅ 🎥 🎬 Two Michaels walk into an office… and argue if virtual meetings are real!

Wednesday, March 6, 2024 /michaels/

I’m a huge fan of videos where there are two talking heads and both are the same person. Especially I’m a fan of Pitch Meetings by Ryan George. That’s why as I started my new @MichaelTeam YouTube Channel I wanted to try it out myself and finally yesterday as I had my favorite “Design Fight” meeting with my Nozbe team I decided to take this opportunity and try it out:

💻 How I upgraded old iMac and MacBook Pro to the latest MacOS giving them a second life!

Tuesday, March 5, 2024 /oldmac/

Back in December of 2013 I bought a 13” MacBook Pro which two years later in summer of 2015 I swapped by the iMac 5K which I eventually replaced in 2022 with M1 MacBook Air. As I never sold the old Macs, I decided to give them a new life by upgrading them to the latest MacOS. Turns out it was fairly easy:
